Negli ultimi giorni il cielo sulla nostra regione appare spesso opaco, nonostante la totale assenza di nubi. Un fenomeno dovuto alla presenza di alte concentrazioni di polveri desertiche in sospensione (dust sahariano) che riflettono parte della luce solare in arrivo. La stessa situazione si osserva anche in Spagna e sull'Europa centrale, in particolare su Francia, Germania, Svizzera e Austria.

Lo scorso sabato (13/2) molte zone della Toscana hanno avuto un bianco risveglio, ma in molte altre, e in particolare nelle aree urbane di pianura la speranza di trovare anche solo un velo di neve è stata disattesa. Cerchiamo di fare un po' il punto sull’ultima nevicata in Toscana e sul freddo che ha caratterizzato gli ultimi giorni.

Maregot is aimed at the joint prevention and management of risks deriving from coastal erosion in the cooperation area between France and Italy. The project intends to initiate a shared planning action which, thanks to a better knowledge of the erosion phenomena and of the dynamics of the coasts, identifies optimal intervention solutions for the management of the territory in relation to the morphological and hydrodynamic characteristics of the coast.

"MED-Star - Strategies and measures for the mitigation of fire risk in the Mediterranean area" is a thematic integrated strategic project, lasting 3 years, which faces the challenge of strengthening the forecasting, prevention and suppression capabilities of fires in cooperation area, to protect and enhance the environmental, cultural and tourist resources of the Maritime space.

GIAS aims to increase the safety of navigation in the cross-border area, in continuity with the provisions of the SICOMARplus strategic project. The fundamental objective of the project will be to help minimize the risk of collision between boats, both related to weather and linked to the presence of large sea obstacles. Furthermore, the project is aimed at increasing the awareness of the risk on the part of the users of the sea, also promoting better management of emergencies in the event of an accident.

Marine ecosystems are exposed to the impact of a number of multiple stressors, resulting from multiple drivers, also acting in different areas. A non-exhaustive list of co-existing pressures includes climate change (e.g. warming and acidification), pollution (litter, NHS), maritime traffic, exploitation of living and non living resources, oligo/eutrophication, invasive species.

Dopo molti giorni in cui ha prevalso un flusso prevalentemente zonale, nel quale correnti umide atlantiche hanno sospinto molte perturbazioni verso il Mediterraneo e l’Italia, a partire da venerdì 12 febbraio è atteso un deciso cambio di circolazione. Un’area di alta pressione in quota, il cosiddetto promontorio, si espanderà dalla penisola iberica verso nord, andando a raggiungere la Scandinavia nella giornata di lunedì. Anche al suolo si formerà un vasto e robusto anticiclone, che si estenderà dal Mediterraneo Occidentale al Baltico.
